Stories Needed

We are looking for engaging and educationally appropriate picture and graphic stories to produce as speaking stories. We ask that all submissions include a 2-5 page sample of the story, which we will use in student focus groups to determine our story selection. Please contact us for more information.

We produce lively and engaging SPEAKING STORIES for late or reluctant readers and language learners of all ages.

  1. We begin with expressive visual stories that learners want to read, picture stories for young learners and graphic stories for older learners and adults.
  2. Then we add a simple web-based sound technology that lets users hear each word or sentence, spoken with character and humor by talented actors.
  3. We keep the computer presentation simple, without menus, dialog boxes, or pop-ups, so that nothing gets in the way of the language and the story.

SPEAKING STORIES are enthralling stories with interactive sound for language learners and late or reluctant readers. They are picture stories for young readers and graphic stories for older readers. They are stories that speak when the reader touches a word or sentence with the mouse. Speaking stories combine visual images and interactive sound so that learners can enjoy captivating and intellectually challenging stories while they increase their literacy and language skills.
